mykej welcome to the Flint Hills Jeep Club Website. Thanks I'm happy to be here My name is Myke Johnson and I just moved to Lawrence from the Seattle, WA area. I've owned 3 Jeeps in the past, but am currently Jeepless I'm thinking about selling my tow rig since I don't really have a use for it now and getting another Jeep that I can daily drive. First Jeep was a 91 Cherokee. 3.5" RE lift and 33" AT's, mostly stock other then that. I wheeled it for about a year and then sold it back to the same guy I bought it from. Then I bought an 02 TJ as a daily driver/wheeler. 3" Full Traction short arm lift, 33" AT's, D30/D35 open/open w/stock 3.07 gears. That sucked so I put a D44 in the rear w/4.56's, an ARB, and 35sp shafts. Also regeared the front D30 to match and added another ARB with 30sp inner/outer shafts. Put on some Gen Right tube fenders, a 1" BL, made a bumper and slapped a winch on it. Then I picked up a set of 33" TSL's and wheeled that for another year. Bought some 35's and wheeled it for another 6 months, broke some u-joints and then decided to chop it all up. Drove it into my buddie's shop (Those Guys Rod & Customs in Bremerton, WA) looking like this. Then drove it out a few months later looking like this. I did most of the hard work and heavy lifting. Pat (the shop owner) did most of the fabrication since I don't have a lot of fab experience. D60's w/5.38's and Detroits, 14" King coilovers f/r, custom 3 link front/4 link rear, Stak 3-speed t-case, etc... Oops At some point along the way it ended up in CRAWL magazine I wheeled it all over the Northwest until Dec 2010 when my wife and I decided to move back here. She finished college and got a good job in KC, so I quit my job and am going back to school. Since we were taking a massive pay cut I decided to sell it and pay off some bills. A few weeks later another Jeep followed me home. 1972 Jeepster Commando w/CJ front end and half-cab hardtop. 304 V8, TH400, D20 t-case, D44's, 36's, etc... My wife has been out here in Lawrence since Nov while I was still in WA working and trying to sell our house. I also have a 1972 Dodge Dart that she's been trying to get me to sell for years. She wanted me to keep the Jeep all along. Then a week before I was supposed to leave for KS she decides that we should keep the Dart and sell the Jeep. Couldn't keep them both since I only had room on my flatbed trailer to haul one out here. It was easy to find a buyer for the Jeepster, but now I am Jeepless. Anyways, that's my life story. Looking forward to meeting some people ;D
